Brixton Village #4: Quince is back in black flattops
EWG's trip to Brixton is one of only a few forays into streetstyle photography. Most of our pictures are taken by others; only occasionally do we take our own.
So it's all the more surprising for me to stop this guy on 5th Avenue, only for him to remember me from a while back when I'd asked to snap him in his glasses once before.
Both times Quince Garcia is wearing super-stylish specs that don't break the bank - this flat-top frame above cost him just £5.
His previous appearance here saw him wearing printed blue wayfarers...
Quince, together with Julien Bernard-Grau, launches Roadworks Magazine, all about urban arts and culture, this Thursday... subscribe here

Brixton Village #3: Kirk Originals Beam in green on Meriem
Meriem wears a wonderful frame from the Beam collection at Kirk Originals, whose Sale at the flagship Conduit Street store in London ends tomorrow - Saturday 22 July (70% off some stuff so quick, quick, quick).
Look out for Meriem in her Kirk shades in a separate post soon. Like many people with Kirk Orginals specs, she's a fanatic so has >1 pair.
Footnote: Meriem works round the corner from Kirks' on Heddon Street for Momo, where EWG remembers a Roberto Cavalli Eyewear launch in (about) 2002. Lots of snakes on the temples... I think I met someone from S Club 7.
UPDATE 21-7-12: It was 2001 and it was Liberty, later known as Liberty X, not S Club.

Brixton Village #2:Paul in Eyebobs tortoiseshell and bamboo glasses from the V&A shop
My second shot from my Saturday afternoon around Brixton, London, and here's Paul who looks great in these striking tortoiseshell framed and yellow bamboo templed glasses, which he bought from the shop at the Victoria & Albert Museum. They're by Minneapolis-based Eyebobs. They cost £75 from the V&A or $85 direct from Eyebobs. Also available on Glasseswebb here...

ID please: Lily wears black chunky frames at LFW
We have done one of our unidentified frame posts for a while. Vanja in Croatia spotted this picture of model Lily Zhi on Vanessa Jackman's blog and, understandably, wants to know who they are by. Answers on a postcard please (or email, Twitter, Facebook etc...)
With thanks to Vanessa Jackman for her photo and blogpost

Sunglasses or glasses on La Brae Street - you decide
HiStyley has long provided EWG with some of our most exciting shots. I love these 1970s/80s lightly tinted shades - the size, shape, the black at the top the contrasts at the sides but fades in the moddle to the light / crystal below... don't know who the glasses are by...

Beck wears Theo Fool specs
Beck, aka Mrs Eye Wear Glasses, is pictured enjoying a smoothie in her Theo Fool glasses, as purchased from the brilliant Spex in the City in Covent Garden, a great little opticians that packs loads of choice into a pretty small space.
I love the shape of this frame – really unusual design around the bridge where the lenses are free from the frame. I raved about some similar Theo frames last year. The Belgian frame maker's slogan is "Theo Loves You" – we love you too Theo! Take a peep at Theo's site for millions of truly original designs. Available in the best opticians worldwide.
Beck's glasses feature a great glazing job too by the superb Ciliary Blue, a web service with some great prices for reglazing. I recently got Ciliary Blue to put a prescription into my Ray-Ban's and they did it perfectly, matching the tint to a T. We highly recommend! Prices start at £15 for a reglaze.

Amazing Japanese brown acetates at Truman's Brewery, east London
Chie wears a wonderful pair of acetate glasses that she purchased in Japan. Unfortunately I don't have the brand name, but I love the angular corners of the external frame in comparison to the gentle curves of the inner frame where the lenses live. You can't see it here but the temples combine gloss and matt acetate finishes to great effect. Great frames Chie!
